| Abstract | Os satélites meteorológicos em órbita na Terra, os quais transportam a bordo sofisticados e sensíveis instrumentos capazes de detecção e medição da radiação emitida ou refletida por alvos existentes em terra, nos oceanos, ou pelas nuvens e camadas da atmosfera, tem propiciado uma vasta gama de dados e informações relacionados ao meio ambiente. Outrossim, os satélites meteorológicos provêm dados para diversas finalidades e objetivos, desde a pesquisa pura, passando pela pesquisa aplicada, e se consolidando em aplicações específicas que cada vez mais promovem uma maior conscientização da sociedade com relação aos parâmetros que representam ou afetam de forma mais significativa o comportamento do meio ambiente do planeta. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste documento é destacar os principais satélites ambientais de nova geração relacionados ao campo da Meteorologia, cujos dados providos subsidiam as previsões meteorológicas de tempo e de clima. The meteorological satellites in orbit of the Earth, which on board carries sophisticated and sensible capable instruments from detention emitted or reflected radiation measurement for targets in land, oceans, or for clouds and layers of the atmosphere, have propitiated a vast gamma of data and information related to the environment. Moreover, they have acquired a great importance for diverse purposes and objectives, since the pure research, passing for the applied research, and if consolidating in specific applications that each time more promote a bigger awareness of the society with regard to the parameters that represent or affect of more significant form the behavior of the environment of the planet. Thus, the objective of this text is to highlight the main ambient satellites related to the field of Meteorology and its new generation, which data provided are useful in weather and climate predictions. |
